IT Support Specialist – Professional Services Firm

We are looking for an IT Support Specialist to join a renowned professional services firm in Boston.

This role will serve as the liaison between the cloud service provider and employees navigating technological resources, with exposure to all levels of the company including C-Suite.

Duties:

– Provides first level support to the user population for their computer and telephony technology needs through telephone support or in person visits.

– Escalates support to offsite cloud network or telephony provider as needed.

– Trains current and new employees on firm computer and telephony technology.

– Conducts in-house technology training classes for attorneys and staff members, either in structured classes or requested.one-on-one training.

Assists with firm wide curriculum development and maintenance of courseware.

– Assists in skills assessment of the Firm’s attorneys and staff members and in developing training programs to address specific skill requirements.

– Consults with management on training issues and assessing business needs.

Recommends programs to enhance the skill level and understanding of the Firm’s technologies.

– Assists with the preparation and maintenance of training and computer-related documentation.

– Maintains hardware inventories for swap out and replacement of end-user computer and telephony equipment as needed with support by outside service provider if needed.

– Configuration, setup and maintenance of firm laptop and desktop computers, with assistance of outside support vendors if needed.

– Installs, configures, maintains, troubleshoots, upgrades and supports specified computer software such as operating systems and application programs.

– Maintains knowledge of the Firm’s desktop and help desk policies and procedures and firm-supported technologies.

– Maintains current knowledge of trends, developments and new technologies related to desktop hardware and software applications.

– Researches, evaluates, and provides input on software and hardware products as requested.

– When appropriate evaluates, tests, and recommends new technologies for the Firm.

Requirements:

– Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

– 1-4 years of related working experience.

– Working knowledge of software such as Windows 10, Office 365, including e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, Mimecast, document management systems and the firm billing system.

– Working command of the industry language and the ability to translate that language to the end users.

– Ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments, use initiative and judgment to accomplish results, work under pressure and complete job assignments in an accurate, timely and professional manner.

– Strong communications, interpersonal and customer service skills and ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of management, staff and a variety of external entities including clients and prospective clients of the firm.
