Job Details Bachelor of ScienceClinical Educator, Inpatient RehabGeneral SummaryUnder the general supervision of the Nurse Manager, the Clinical Educator is responsible for providing educational services, including assessing, maintaining, and developing competencies related to performance standards and expectations for clinical staff of the Inpatient Rehab Department.Essential Functions & Accountabilities1) Develops and implements educational lesson plans for education activities for clinical staff to meet crucial learning needs of the organization.

Uses adult education principles and current research findings to develop lesson plans.

Validates and maintains clinical skills related to new procedures, concepts and equipment.2) Functions as the content expert for clinical departments regarding mandatory educational issues including: a.

Assess the department’s learning needs.b.

Evaluate the department’s learning needs.c.

Prioritizes the department’s learning needs.3) Develops teaching plans and curriculum as needed to meet the educational needs of the Inpatient Rehab Department.

Collaborates with Education, Clinical Coordinators, Managers and staff to maintain consistency of learning activities.4) Writes lesson plans focusing on factors relating to safety, effectiveness, comparability, availability, and cost when considering new programs.5) Uses appropriate tools to evaluate effectiveness of educational activities.6) Serves on committees, task forces, meetings, and other activities involving the development of educational activities for clinical staff.7) Incorporates appropriate practice standards, laws and regulations into lesson plans and courses designed for -clinical departments.8) Acts as a patient advocate; delivers care in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner; delivers care in such a way that preserves the patient’s autonomy, dignity, and rights.9) All other duties as assigned, within the scope and range of job responsibilities.Minimum RequirementsEducation: Minimum of BSN required with MSN or master’s in education preferred.Experience: At least 3 years of acute care nursing experience required with 5 years of education experience in a healthcare facility strongly preferred.Licensure / Certification: Current Delaware RN license in good standing and BLS.Computer / Software: Proficiency with EMR/EHR and computer systems.

Nursing Proserv certificate and experience with Epic EMR strongly preferred.Special Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities
• Ability to effectively communicate.

Flexibility and the ability to demonstrate good work ethics.
• Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking EnglishEnvironmental and Physical RequirementsRegularly exposed to the risk of bloodborne diseases.

Contact with patients under wide variety of circumstances.
