RN Assistant Nurse Manager – Recovery and Observation

Providence is calling a RN Assistant Nurse Manager (1.0 FTE, Variable Shift) to the Recovery Room Services at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington.Under supervision of the Nurse Manager, provides direct nursing supervision on the unit ensuring comprehensive and quality patient care. The Assistant Nurse Manager assists with day-to-day management of unit operations. This position assists with oversight of clinical and resource utilization, patient throughput, quality assessment and improvement, patient/staff/provider satisfaction, interpretation of policies and procedures, staff education and regulatory compliance. Participates in the selection and evaluation of staff as delegated by the director and/or Nurse Manager.In this position you will:* Within the delegated authority accomplishes management tasks:* Demonstrate responsibility for day-to-day unit activities related to:* Staffing and supervision.* Performance management, recognition mentoring and coaching.* Improving quality and safety.* Customer service and service recovery.* Physician liaison, including rounding.* Maintaining supplies (routine and special order) and equipment.* Effective leadership and communication.* Participate in the hiring of new employees. Assists with timely and accurate evaluations of staff according to PSPH standards.* Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to update and revise policies, procedures, protocols, processes, standards, and job descriptions.* Demonstrate above average skill in conflict resolution, negotiation of solutions, communicates positive and constructive feedback within the department and at the hospital level* Participate in coordination and implementation of staff and Charge RN meetings. Collaborates with the Nurse Manager, Director and Educator for meeting content.* Participate in department level staff and customer satisfaction activities including: staff and patient rounding, discharge phone calls, staff recognition, key words at key times.* Maintain clinical knowledge and skills at the ability necessary to support patient care appropriate to the patient population served. Functions as a role model for communication, mission integrity, and professional behavior in all areas of responsibility. Facilitates teamwork and unit pride.Required qualifications for this position include:* Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing* Washington State Licensure as a Registered Nurse.* Basic Life Support (BLS).* Three(3) years acute care nursing experience within the last 5 years.About the hospital you will serve.Providence St. Peter Hospital is a 390-bed, not-for-profit regional teaching hospital.
