The Boeing Global Services (BGS) Training, Digital and Analytics team is hiring an Experienced Software Engineer – Immersive Technologies (AR / VR) Innovation. This position has been identified as a virtual opportunity and does not require applicants to live in St. Louis, Missouri-USA.The primary focus of this role will be to develop immersive technology software capabilities with augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and mixed reality (MR) to aid in the development of new training solutions that will support aircrew and maintainers across a wide range of aircraft systems in our portfolio to improve the efficiency and quality of student learning.This role will meaningfully contribute to the development of integrated training solutions linking existing and future capabilities into customer facing products. Additionally, you may help map the technologies in our portfolio to our customer’s most pressing capability needs, both domestically and internationally. This is a rapidly evolving domain with potential for high visibility impact.Position Responsibilities:Passionate about developing new capabilities, especially AR/VR/MR, learning analytics, and web-based digital solutionsCommunicates well with fellow developers on team and key stakeholders to understand design requirementsExcels at working in agile software development environment, including extreme and paired programming, with a focus on automated processesEmployer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Holds a Technical Bachelor’s, Master’s or a PhD degree (A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study)3+ years’ of work experience with software design, development, debugging, and performing software integration and test1+ years of work experience in developing virtual reality and/or augmented reality applicationsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):The ideal fit are individuals with video game programming experience, Unity 3D (Game Engine), C#, preferred, but Unreal skills are applicableTraining / simulation experience, C++Visual Studio (Integrated Development Environment)Server Sent EventsPipeline definition supporting continuous integration / continuous development (CI/CD)Learning Records Stores or Learning Management SystemsA self-starter that can thrive in a distributed remote work environment.Has successfully developed and deployed innovative software capabilities to customers.Typical Education/ Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience).
