Project Information bull Accessibility specific to mobile platforms – this role is all going to be focused on accessibility for mobile – Android and iOS bull WCAG 2.0 Guidelines – uphold all products to those guidelines Role bull Must have experience and understand accessibility criteria and guidelines. bull Will working with designers, researchers, content strategists to make recommendations o Example Sitting with designer – be able to tell them they are going to have issue with this item, then get with developer and let them know what issues they could run into Experience bull Strong understanding of WCAG 2.0 bull Experience with voice over, screen readers, magnification, etc bull Usability heuristics bull Experience with accessibility tools specific to mobile (Axe, Accessibility Inspector. bull Experience with accessibility and making recommendations to designers and developers bull Experience with accessibility specific to mobile platforms – iOS and Android bull Xamarin bull JavaScript, HTML, CSS – not writing code, but needs to have understanding of code so they can make recommendations or inform if something will not work to meet accessibility guidelines bull Experience and understanding of product design lifecycle bull Prototypes – using Invision – will go in and use Freehand commenting tool to document their guidance, they can use anything to ensure recommendation is understood, can create a video, etc. – how to translate to a designer, developer, QA Tester Primary Responsibilities Performing accessibility testing (both automated and manual) on native mobile apps and websites for both desktop and mobile platforms Troubleshooting accessibility issues and providing the necessary HTML, CSS and JavaScript changes for remediation as needed Serve as the point of contact and accessibility subject matter expert for developers and QA (Quality Assurance) testers Work with designers, developers and QA testers to help answer inquiries, identify potential accessibility issues and provide necessary guidance Document accessibility issues found as a result of testing and submit those issues to the appropriate development teams Assist the development community at Regions on best practices for writing accessible code as well as automated tests around accessible code Skills and Competencies In-depth, working knowledge of WCAG, WAI-ARIA and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for digital web. Has in-depth knowledge of ADA tools and standards used for accessibility Testing (i.e. WAVE, AXE) 3+ years experience using methodologies to ensure digital products conform to WCAG 2.0 level AA Experience using assistive technologies such as JAWS, Voiceover, Talkback, NVDA, Voiceover and other manual and automated testing tools across multiple devices, browsers and operating systems. Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript Experience testing native mobile apps for accessibility and supporting accessibility within Xamarin A strong passion for improving people’s lives through human centered design Critical thinker and problem-solving skills Great interpersonal and communication skills Comfortable presenting findings and insights Able to successfully collaborate and work with the larger (UX) and product teams EEO Employer Apex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
