Return Merchandise Authorization Inspector

This is a Full-time position in Houston, TX posted May 2, 2021.

The Return Merchandise Authorization Inspector is chiefly responsible for receiving customer product returns, performing post return analysis and communicating findings with Customer Service Representatives and Accounting to achieve resolution

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

•         Check to ensure that appropriate steps were made to resolve customers’ problems

•         Enter data for customer interactions or transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, or comments, as well as actions taken

•         Refer unresolved customer grievances to designated departments for further investigation

•         Complete service call orders or issue call tags via FedEx Ship Manager

•         File and check status of freight claims via UPS website and/or freight companies

•         Interact with all departments and outside representatives as needed

•         Obtain and examine all relevant information to assess validity of complaints and to determine possible causes

•         Other duties or responsibilities, as dictated by business needs

Qualifications

•         High School Diploma or GED is required

•         Minimum 3+ years’ experience in quality inspection or related field; returns processing experience preferred

•         MS Office knowledge

•         Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience preferred

•         Manufacturing/Distribution environment preferred

•         Meticulous attention to detail; commitment to producing quality product

•         Excellent oral and written communication skills

•         Ability to work in an environment with competing priorities and deadlines

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The RMA Inspector role operates in a warehouse setting.  This role frequently lifts up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds as a team lift, adjusts body positions, including bending, reaching, stooping, standing, walking, turning, pivoting, and standing for long periods of time.  The noise level is

moderate to high.  Visual acuity requirements include close and distance vision, peripheral, and depth perception

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is working in a non-climate controlled warehouse and will be exposed to temperature-related weather conditions.  This role will operate near mechanical equipment such as conveyer belts and powered industrial equipment such as forklifts and pallet riders
